Objectives:
To familiarize students with the hazards of working within Confined Spaces and inform of the regulations required before and when working in these areas.

- Examples of Confined Spaces
- Recognizing Confined Spaces
- Assessment of Potential Hazards
- Hazards Resulting from Work Activities
- Eliminating or Controlling Hazards
- Ventilation, Purge and Inert
- Entry Permits System & Record Keeping
- Understanding the Confined Space Program
The Confined Space Awareness program does not have a hands on component and is classroom session only. Confined Space Entry includes all of the topics covered in the Awareness program but also adds the following:
- Ventilation Calculations and Purge Requirements for Air Quality
- Set-up and Safe Use of a Blower Ventilation System
- Harness Fitting (hands on- bring your harness!)
- Air Quality Monitors- Calibration and Bump Testing
- Physical Entry into a Confined Space or Simulator
- Tripod or Davit Assembly and Inspections
- Non-Entry Rescue Simulator
All material covered in this course can be specifically tailored to individual work site environment(s).
Ideally the participants will have already taken Fall Arrest Training and are familiar with the workings of their harnesses and lanyards. Please let us know the levels of training of the participants in advance so that we can ensure the most effective training possible to keep your team safe.
